This year’s Burwell Carnival raised £10,635, almost £400 more than last year. And last week the funds were divided out amongst 32 local groups and organisations, particularly those who helped on Carnival day.

Presentation night had special performances from Burwell Community Choir and local duo, The Dirty Scoundrels.

The Carnival committee said they would like to thank everyone in the village for their help and support and in particular the businesses that sponsored or helped with the event, particularly, Manchetts, Mitchams, Cambridge Chevrolet and the Burwell Bulletin. A special Cake was donated by Lanes Bakery.

Carnival fundraising is now starting for next year’s event planned for 23rd June 2012. Theme for floats is The Olympics and Paralympics. 

First fundraising event of the year is a comedy night on Saturday 19th November
